Feature Writing Piece Ideas

I am still in the midst of deciding which topic I intend on writing about, but there is this one particular subject I would be interested in addressing; how far people should go to protect pets. My ex-roomate witnessed his friend attack another person after a person shot his friend's dog with a pellot gun in response to the terrier pooping on the edge of his lawn. The police came upon the scene and sided with the dog owner due to the fact that he was defending a helpless animal. People go great lengths to defend their pets. Sometimes defending a pet may get extreme and violent, while other times it's a simple argument resolved. The lengths people go to defend their pets would be a very interesting subject to address to the public.

The Forever War: Home Sweet Home?

Progressing through this book, many of the Afghans talk of Afghanistan as their home and they fight with all of their hearts to defend their homes and families. It is very ironic that they have such strong emotions about their homes when the majority of their country is destroyed and now just rubble from countless bombings and battles. Gul Nabi was sitting on a brick wall looking at his destroyed house and the wooden planks used to make a grave for his entire family. The city of Khan-i-Merajuddin was nothing more than a graveyard with more bodies  than there were gravestones. When everything in their homeland is already destroyed, what keeps a man fighting? What else keeps them fighting and staying strong to their beliefs? The determination these people have to keep fighting is unmatchable; I have never heard of people fighting for their homeland when it is already in rubble.

Talk of the Town: Rock Climbing for All!

The Bridgewater Rock climbing club is on the lookout for candidates who are interested in having a great time and a lot of fun. Rock climbing isn't just a good workout, it's also a great time spent meeting new people and trying to better yourself. Improvement is a common presence with this club and you don't have to worry about being at practice on time or anything; there is no practice. Every Wednesday, this group of kids drives down to New Bedford to an indoor climbing facility to challenge themselves and just have a good time. College is all about new experiences and enjoying yourself. So why not go online to the Bridgewater site and get in touch with the rock climbing club. I can guarantee that you will have nothing short of a fantastic time. Why not try living on the edge for once? There's no worries when you got a harness on and a friend spotting you from below.

The Forever War: The Effects of War

Having read this book, it is clear that war changes people significantly. Many of the people living in the middle of this war would most likely of been friends under normal circumstances. However, all is not well and even the slightest disagreement about an idea or course of action can lead to violence or worse. The bitter disagreement that occurs so often only fuels the war and creates further problems for this country. Hearing perspectives from both the allied forces and the enemy makes you feel like you are right there in the middle of the conflict.

Talk of the Town: Frisbee in Turmoil

The Bridgewater Ultimate Frisbee Team has recently faced troubles similar to what the New England Patriots are facing; a lack of veteran players. This year, the team has lost over twelve starting players, as well as key bench players due to graduating classes. With a large group of new recruits, will the team be able to find players that can fill in as effectively as our experienced veterans? This is a possible subject I would like to look into. Having played for the team in the past, I can interview the current captains, as well as some of the newer players who are in the middle of the hunt for a starting position. Hearing how both rookies and veterans feel about this years progress allows me to see just how prepared the team will be this year. Getting hold of these athletes should be no problem at all.
